Starting later this week, I get to take the second half of my maternity leave.
I’m SO excited to just be mom for the next three months, focusing on Jackson and getting myself back into shape. I cringe at comments about moms losing baby weight–we just brought life into the world, we should give ourselves more grace. But if I’m being honest, my motivation is a little bit about weight loss. AND to get stronger and become a “runner” again. I used to run all the time when I lived in DC, and I’d love to get back to that level of health. I do Pilates 2-3x a week, so my plan is to continue that, then join the local YMCA (a brand-new one just opened!) and do heavy weight lifting and/or cardio. They have a kids’ center where Jackson can be cared for for 1-2 hours while I work out. How nice is that?
